MG-Hifi The german company MG-Hifi, well known for it's turntable components, also makes the well known record-player mat's made from cork. These mat's are by nature anti-static and by means of the material and the small contact area, they form the ideal isolation between the record and the platter. Compared to a standard record-player mat, these mat's have the extra advantage that no dust nor durt can get pressed into the grooves. All this results in a very calm, open and detailed image. By lowering the noise-floor level these mat's let you listen deeper into the music.
The MG-Hifi ST-3 cork mat with label-dics has an outside diameter of 296mm's. This type of record-player mat is especially made for Acoustic Signature turntables that have a recessed part in the centre of the platter designed especially for the record's label and use a record-clamp or weight. The small discs near the outer edge have a height of 2mm's and the label-disc has a height of 1mm. There is also a seperate label-disc on the back that fits perfectly into the label recess of the Acoustic Signature platters. This way your record is supported perfectly and maintains optimum isolation from the platter at all times.
